Another excerpt from The Book of Janel

  1. Now, my father's children were thus: I, Janel, being the eldest, did have three brothers, namely, Derek, Nathan, and Lee; and one sister, Teri.

  2. And my sister was a maiden of much loveliness, and of much kindness and goodness of heart, wherefore many did seek her company.

  3. And many youths did woo her; nevertheless, she would not be wooed. For behold, none did please her.

  4. And it came to pass that a youth from the land of Hooper, from the house of Winter came unto her. And he was called Brad. Now my sister and Brad did meet in the place of learning, yea, even high school; and they did date some in high school; nevertheless they did never become boyfriend and girlfriend.

  5. And it came to pass that Brad did serve the Lord for the space of two years in the land of Costa Rica, and after his service he did return unto the land of Hooper.

  6. And he did go unto my sister, and they did date much, insomuch that she did grow to love him, and he did grow to love her.

  7. Wherefore, Brad went unto my father and asked for the hand of my sister. And my father agreed. And after he had done this, he went unto the store of jewelry and bought a ring.

  8. And it came to pass that my sister did go unto his dwelling place. And behold he had made many plans for the evening, but was frustrated by the coldness and windiness of the weather and also by the desire of my sister to do homework of chemistry. Nevertheless, they did go unto his barn and sit by a fire. And behold, it was romantic.

  9. And Brad did ask my sister Teri to marry him. And she did say yes.

  10. And they did decide to be married in the house of the Lord in Ogden on the 19th day in the month of July.

  11. Now this thing brought great joy to our house, and also to the house of Winter.

  12. And many did say, "Is there anything more perfect than the marriage of Teri and Brad? We say nay, there is not."

  13. And there was much rejoicing in the land.

Verily, verily, Annie is rejoicing with the families of the engagees for this news bringeth her great happiness. For Brad and Teri are meant to be together for Annie declared it one day in the Pharmacy of Old. And when the glad tidings were announced, a cheer did rise up from the employees at the pharmacy and we did clap our hands with much giddiness. And Annie did enjoy this blog immensely and did refer to herself in the third person.

14. And it came to pass that there was a slight change of plans. For behold, Teri did discover that the president of the Tabernacle Choir could be the officiator of their marriage if they were married in the Temple of the Land of Bountiful on July 12th.

15. Wherefore, Teri and Brad did change the date of their marriage. And it was good.
